Current Situation

fig.5 This shows the trial of tears and the path of the Indians when the colonists came in ad ran them out.

The current situation in the North America is that the Europeans drove out most of the native people. However, many tribes still flourish today throughout the nation. They have a good relationship with the American government. Different tribes live in communities throughout the states. Some of these tribes even have sovereignty from the federal government. Since the Europeans took over the lands of America, the United States was ruled by those of English descent. As the colonists broke free from their mother country, the United States became its own independent nation.  Also according to the ABC@ CLIO “Poor funding, corruption, and a lack of national interest virtually guaranteed that the reservation lifestyle would make the Indians overlooked, second-class citizens in a country they once dominated.” That states that the Indians' lifestyle is respected, but not as prominent as the upper class Americans of European descent. The current situation didn’t favor the Native Americans. The Europeans have the overall advantage. Today, America is made up of people from all over the globe, making it a diverse place to live, with a government run by the people.
